  • SecureDownload (undocumented)

Posted on September 22nd, 2005 Quad341 No comments

I said i’d finish it and did a while ago, i just didn’t document yet, so i didn’t post it yet (ie. not on projects page). So I might remember, here’s a short post about it:

SecureDownload is a VERY simple script that allows people to upload and download, both requiring a password. It’s set up for project teams so they use a common password for different actions and cannot be circumvented by direct links (by using a .htaccess file). It works only on Apache and since a lot is done in the htaccess file and there aren’t comments in it, i need to comment it up and such. Currently: if you can understand what is going on, change both scripts to reflect what you want (for redirects and the upload). If you don’t get it, i would advise waiting for the documentation (coming soon!)

Being a happy firefox user, it’s somewhat disturbing to have it labled as the most insecure browser in existance this year (by Symantec). It’s an interesting read to be sure.
